Where did the name CrossCollaboration come from? Simply put, this site is about connection and partnership… the partnership between the Bonhams and Gutierrez families, between the GOers and the SENDers, and between those of us who call ourselves Christians and the nations. Our ministry is made up of people who co-labor together towards the Great Commission. We are one team united under the cross of Christ to reach the nations across the world.
We are two families committed to serving the Lord together in cross-cultural ministry. Nathaniel Gutierrez is a third generation missionary who spent much of his life in Peru serving with his family in cross-cultural missions. The Bonham family labored in gospel ministry for over six years in a church plant in Mississippi. After arriving in Colombia in 2012, both of our families realized our common commitment to partnership in ministry and unity of vision and thereby began pursuing the mission field together. Together, we arrived in Arequipa, Peru in December of 2013. We believe that the foundation to gospel ministry is genuine Christian community. Because this is foundational to our mission, we follow a pattern set by Jesus in Mark 6 when he sent his disciples out in pairs to spread the gospel. We are excited about our collaboration with one another, just as we are excited about our collaboration with YOU.
Our families believe that the Lord has called us to spread the gospel through church planting, evangelism, discipleship, and mercy ministry in Arequipa, Peru. We serve with Mission to the World (MTW), the missions-sending agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. Arequipa is a new work for MTW so we are excited about the opportunity to build a new foundation (Romans 15:20-21). Most recently, we have been pastoring a mission church called Iglesia La Roca (The Rock Church) and have opened up Seminario Bíblico Reformado (Reformed Bible Seminary).
